Anges Khan strikes again!

At this moment Agnes is desperately trying to get into the tubs of dog food.
I am pleased to say that she is failing at her task. Not that I don't want her to eat, but it's rather amusing  to watch her.

At this moment I am also procrastinating and am experiencing writers block. I am covering the opening of a new doughnut shop about a mile away from campus. The thing about the shop is that they have unusual doughnut flavors and will also deliver to on and off campus housing. The guys are really cool and it's obvious that doughnuts are their passion but I have no idea where to start. Bah!

Also, not much has been going on since I last wrote. All I do is school and for, but for real. Nursing students complain about how little a social life they have, but that's expected they are going to school to have people lives in their hands. Journalism is a whole other story. We are not expected to save peoples lives, only be slightly stalkerish but withing the First Amendment right to do so. But seriously, I'm on break and still working on a story. I hear things and think "Oh, I could tell that story!" or "Oooh maybe I should talk to someone about getting that published." It never turns off. NEVER. I hear sirens and am tempted to follow them to see what's going on. If someone interesting is at work I just want to pull out my recorder and record their story so everyone can hear it. It's time consuming. Jake thinks I am purposefully avoiding him when I just have so much to do.

Not only do I have to go and report but I am also my own film crew, editor, reporter, anchor and everything but publisher. I am always at school editing something or getting an interview. I am constantly listening to peoples conversations to hear if there might be a good story there. I'm starting to worry about how creepy I am becoming. I showed up at the doughnut shop out of the blue because the guy wouldn't call me back!

I guess the point I am trying to get across is that nursing students can say all they want about how much of a life they don't have but my major is practically consuming my every thought. I now even dream about it. But all of it has paid off because...

I HAVE BEEN PUBLISHED!!!!

It's only in the University paper, but the paper has been nominated for a pacemaker award. (http://www.studentpress.org/acp/contests.html#npm) <<< link to what the Pacemaker is.

http://websterjournal.com/2013/10/16/fly-takes-off-at-the-loretto-hilton/ <<< the link to MY ARTICLE!!!

I guess I have to go back to trying to write my next one.

So now I leave you with a picture of sleeping Riley.

Cat in a basket

Hello Hello!

Since we last spoke, aka I wrote and you read, only a few things have happened.

Do you remember how I wrote about a game on campus called Humans vs. Zombies? Well my story that I did on HVZ may get published in the Webster Journal!! I'm pretty stoked. It's not a for sure thing yet but it's a possibility, and even that is exciting.

I'm working on another project, similar to how I did HVZ, but this is for Webster Works. Webster Works Worldwide is a day where all of the Webster campuses cancel classes in hopes that faculty, students, and staff will go out and volunteer in the community. It's pretty cool. Not only do we get to miss class, but we get free food.

I observed a group at a retirement home. They threw an Oktoberfest party for the residents and we helped. It was great seeing the residents laugh and smile and dance a little in their wheel chairs. I'm glad I go to a University that does this.

Also I'm meeting with one of the local celebrities for an interview for one of my classes.

So basically my whole life is journalism. I'm not even mad. I now read things and think "Oh, that would be a great story!" It's kinda cool.

The only cool thing that happened is I found a cupcakary. But not just any cupcakes, MINI CUPCAKES. They were so cute! And you get three.
Aren't they just adorable?! They were also delicious!

Also I found a new favorite spot. It's a chocolate bar. Shocker huh? ;)

I wont tempt you with the descriptions of the moist cupcake and decadent crepe cake.

And now for pictures of the cat, the dog is too dark to photograph well.
